At York Manor in Fredericton, Gerald Joseph Doiron passed away on Friday,
November 23, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Acadieville, NB, he was a son of the
late Frank and Katherine (Gallant) Doiron and husband of the late Doris (Estey)
Doiron.
Gerald loved salmon fishing, hunting, camping at Lake Utopia and playing bingo.
He was an avid music fan, especially Acadian kitchen parties. He was also a
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch #15 Marysville.
He is survived by a daughter Brenda (Fred) McCoy of Killarney Road; two sons
Robert (Dana) Doiron of Fredericton and Joseph (Michelle) Doiron of Lincoln; six
grandchildren Tina Aubie (Shawn) of Fredericton, Tanya Lovely (Terry) of Upper
Durham, Christopher Doiron of Fredericton, Korey Doiron of Fredericton, Nicole
Kita (Tom) of Chicago, Illinois and Mackenzie Doiron of Fredericton; two great
grandchildren Nekeisha and Austin; a sister Florence Martel of Quebec; several
nieces and nephews. Gerald was also predeceased by five brothers Francis (Cecile),
Edmund (Louise), Edgar (Nan) Leonard (Mildred), Jerry (Helen); two sisters Alice
(Moses) and Albina (Romeo).
Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Monday,
November 26, 2012 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on
Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00 am with Father
Aaron Knox officiating. Interment will be held at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic
Cemetery.
Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation
would be appreciated by the family. A Royal Canadian Legion, branch # 15 tribute
service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2:00 pm
